The Springfield-Greene County Park Board's Outdoor Initiatives offers a variety of outdoor and nature-based programs throughout the end of summer and early fall for youth, families and adults, including:

GUNTER FARMS - PUMPKINS, HAY RIDES, THE GREAT OUTDOORS! WOOT!
Here's the details:
Where- Gunter Farms, Conway Mo. www.gunterfarm.com 45 min. east of Springfield

When- This Thursday, Oct 25th @ 11:30 am- 2:00 ?
Cost- $5.00 if we have 20 or more, $6:00 if we have less. Parents are free..
What this includes- All kinds of games,dairy farm learnin, a big Bale maze, a little munchkin bale maze, Hay rides, and for each paid band, you get to pick a small pumpkin:0) Parents are free, but no pumpkin:0( but there is pumpkins and gourds of all sizes to purchase..
Also, they will have the fire pits going and you can bring hotdogs, or a picnic lunch for your family. But don't forget the stuff for your s'mores:0)
This has always just been a fun time to get out and have some fun outside of school and enjoy some of Gods creation!! Maybe someone could bring their guitar and we could even sing a bit by the camp fire:0)
I will say this will be a true blessing to our Uncle and Aunt, since they lost all their corn this year due to the drought conditions.. They have tried really hard to still make it a fun time for everyone of all ages..

Ladies:
I thought that you might want to send an email out and put a blurb on the blog about the free family passes available at Greene County libraries for the Discovery Center. If you will go to coolcat.org, a button on the lower right-hand side of the screen advertises for them. Click on the button and you will find all of the information about them.
I called last week about them, and they were all checked out at the libraries I was closest to. You cannot put them on hold, and I believe that you must get them from the children's section of each library.
