Lego Discovery Center Field Trip
Nov. 15
Save the date and plan to come along on a Kansas City road trip on Thursday, November 15.
We have made reservations for the Lego Discovery Center located at the Crown Center in Kansas City.
Sign-ups will be on Oct 30 and Nov 6. Payment needs to be made by November 6.
The costs are as follows:
Ages 3-12 $7.50
Ages 13-17 $8.50
Adults $10.00
Children ages 2 and under are FREE!
Our field trip begins at 10AM. We have optional classes that are included in our admission. There is a class at 11AM called "Tall Towers". The second class is at 11:30 and it is called "Race Cars". There is also a movie and 2 rides that are also included with the admission.
The Lego Sea Life Aquarium is not included and does require a separate admission.
Lego does not allow visitors to bring food inside. However, you can have your hand stamped if you would like to step out for lunch. Lego does have a snack bar. There are also several restaurants inside the Crown Center Mall and a small food court with tables.
Please note, all payments for the Lego field trip must be prepaid in advance. We have to pay one week prior to the event. If you pay and then cannot attend, you will not be refunded, but instead be given tickets for you to go at a later day. Those tickets will have an expiration date.
We have to have at least 15 paid admissions to receive the group rate. If we don't have our minimum, we will cancel the field trip.
Located at the Crown Center is the Hallmark Welcome Center and Hallmark's Kaleidoscope. Both these are free and within walking distance to Lego.
Also nearby, but likely a short drive is the Money Museum. This is free.
Alongside our sign-up for this, we will have a list for carpooling. If you plan to drive and have extra seats to offer to another family there will be a list for you to offer your open seats. If you don't want to drive, there could be a chance of a ride. We cannot guarantee a ride for anyone. All ride arrangements will be need to be made on your own. This list will be a courtesy for making a possible connection.

Hi Co-op friends! I am beginning the process of setting up a field trip to the Springfield Art Museum. It is free, though donations are appreciated. I would like to get a count of who would like to go in the next week so I can let them know. I randomly chose Thurs, Nov 8th at 10am, though I am open to suggestions if another day of the week or earlier time is better. They open at 9am and are located a couple blocks south of MSU on National between Sunshine and Grand. There is a nice park and walking garden nearby if enough people come and we want to split into an older and younger group with the younger going to the park (weather permitting) at least part of the time. I wouldn't think we would be there more than an hour. Here is their website: http://www.springfieldmo.gov/art/. They allow non-flash photography. Any input in the next week is greatly appreciated! I especially need a quick email if you want to go with how many heads there would be.
