We've had a ton of requests for the sugar cookie recipe. Here it is:
6 oz. Butter softened
1 cup castor sugar
1 1/2 t. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups plain flour
1 egg
1 egg yolk
Powdered sugar for the top
Heat oven to 350 degrees. In food mixer process butter, sugar and vanilla till fluffy. Add eggs and mix. Add the flour slowly till combined. Knead dough lightly, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Roll out dough and cut into shapes. Try not to handle too much or it gets sticky.
Bake on lined baking sheets for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire racks, and dust with powdered sugar.
Makes 45, 1/4 inch thick small cookies.
